The Board of Trustees of the Central Islip Public Library believes that young adults, ages 17 and under, should be required to present a valid, current Central Islip Library Card upon entry to the Library on school days, up to 6 PM.

The intent of the policy is to better secure the safety of our young people, ensure school-aged children are not truant from class (daytime or after-school), and assist parents and care-givers in maintaining knowledge of their children's whereabouts.

Library cards are readily obtainable from the Circulation Department during library operating hours.
